Gold producer Goldplat returned to profit as production increased amid a rise in gold prices.
For the three months ending 30 September 2019, Goldplat reported operating profit of £1.1m compared with a loss of £252K a year earlier.
Gold Recovery Ghana experienced increased activity during the quarter, achieving sales of £1.2m, up from £805,000 a year earlier, resulting in a small operating profit of £23,000, compared with a loss of £203K a year earlier, the company said.
The continued production in South Africa was supported by the increase in gold price and the increase in production levels in Ghana was due to increase in material sourced, the company said.
