Miner Fresnillo said gold and silver production was likely to be at the lower end of guidance as output of both metals fell in the third quarter of the year.
The company said 2019 silver and gold production was likely to be at the lower end of the guided ranges of 55m to 58m ounces (including Silverstream) silver and 880,000 to 910,000 ounces gold respectively.
The softer outlook comes as quarterly silver production fell 7.9% to 13.3m ounces in the third quarter from the second, and fell 14.9% from the third quarter last year, mainly driven by a lower ore grade at Saucito and at San Julián.
Quarterly gold production fell 5.2% to 209,800 ounces in the third quarter from the second, and 6.9% from a year earlier, mainly due to a lower ore grade at Herradura, the company said.
