Norish profits rise as lower costs buffer fall in sales

Cold storage group Norish booked a 43% rise in first-half profit, as lower costs helped offset a fall in revenue at its sourcing division.

Pre-tax profit for the six months through June increased to £1.3m, up from £0.9m on-year.

Revenue fell 5.1% to to £17.5m, with sales growth of 10% in the cold storage division offset by a 16% fall in the sourcing division.

The company did not declare an interim dividend.
