Computacenter reported slightly lower half-yearly profits as acquisition costs offset an uptick in revenues, with the technology company saying it expected to see a more significant contribution from its acquired businesses in the USA during the second half of the year.

For the six month period ended 30 June 2019, statutory pre-tax profit fell 2.3% £50.8m and revenue increased and revenues increased by 20.8% to £2,427.0m.

The decline in profit from a year earlier comes as the company recorded net charge of £2.7m, up from £0.1m a year earlier, principally related to the group's acquisition of FusionStorm.

'The board's outlook remains in line with its expectations, which were upgraded as per the trading update on 31 July 2019,' the company said.

'The Board expects that the full year 2019 profit growth, in monetary value, will be the best in the company's history. This performance will be predominantly achieved without the aid of acquisitions, however we expect to see a more significant contribution from our acquired business in the USA during the second half,' it added.
