Allianz Tech Trust tops benchmark as NAV jump 27% in H1

Allianz Tech Trust said returns in the first half of the year topped its benchmark performance as tech stocks outperformed the global equity market.

The company said net asset value increased by 27.3%, beating its benchmark, the Dow Jones World Technology Index (sterling adjusted, total return), which rose by 22.9%. Over the same period the FTSE All-Share Index rose by 13.0%.

Technology stocks moved higher over the period, generally outperforming the broader global equity market, the company added.

Over the period, the company's share price increased by 34.9% from 1,220p as at 31 December 2018 to 1646p as at 30 June 2019, moving from a discount to net asset value of 5% to a modest premium.
