Hydrogen power company AFC Energy reported narrower losses in the first half of the year as costs fell sharply.

For the six months ended April, pre-tax losses narrowed to £2.1m from £2.7m a year earlier, with administrative costs falling to £2.13m from £2.73m and cost of sales down sharply to £1,301 from £14,647.

The company reduced the costs of electrode manufacture, by bringing together the supply chain for its systems' mass production.

The company said it expected to deliver the first hydrogen fueled EV charger for deployment across the UK later this year. This would be followed by modular stationary off grid power systems, it added.
