Kcell earnings jump in Q2 amid uptick in sales

Mobile telecommunications services provider Kcell said earnings jumped 49% in the second quarter thanks to an uptick in sales.

Earnings (EBITDA), excluding non-recurring items, grew by 48.8% to KZT 16,088m and total revenue in the second quarter increased by 4.3%, the largest increase since the second quarter of 2013.

Net sales increased by 4.3% to KZT 37,869m, while service revenue increased by 6.7% to KZT 34,188m.

'For the first time in five years, we managed to overcome the negative trend in our service revenue,' the company said.
