IN BRIEF: Vinci JV wins £856 million contract under HS2 rail project

Vinci Sa - Nanterre, France-based construction, concessions and energy company - 50%-owned joint venture Taylor Woodrow wins a £856 million contract to build key infrastructure works for the High Speed 2 line, set to connect West London and Birmingham.

The contract includes the design, construction, testing and commissioning of a maintenance depot for HS2 trains. ‘The site will notably include a maintenance building, a train washing facility, an automatic vehicle inspection building, stabling tracks and a test track. It will also house the operational control centre for the entire HS2 network,’ Vinci says.

Current share price: €126.05, closed down 1.5% in Paris on Wednesday
