Atalaya Mining Copper SA - owns and operates Proyecto Riotinto copper mine in southwest Spain - Urion Holdings (Malta) Ltd, part of Trafigura Group Pte Ltd, sells 14.0 million Atalaya Mining shares at 945 pence each, worth £132 million. The sale was via a placing by JP Morgan SE that was announced after the London market close on Tuesday. The share sold represent an 8.5% stake in Atalaya Mining and Trafigura retains a 10.9% stake. Trafigura is a Singapore-based commodities supply chain firm.
The £132 million sale of existing shares by Trafigura follows Atalaya Mining last week raising the similar amount of £130.0 million from a placing and retail offer of 13.0 million new shares at £10.00 each.
Current stock price: 943.00 pence, down 8.3% in London on Wednesday morning, for £1.45 billion market capitalisation
