IN BRIEF: Solid State announces death of Chief Executive Marsh

Solid State PLC - Redditch, England-based electronics supplier for industry and defence - Reports ‘with great sadness’ on Thursday that Chief Executive Officer Gary Marsh has died after a short illness. Names John Macmichael as interim CEO. Macmichael is currently the managing director of Solsta, Solid State’s Components division. Solid State says he ‘will have the support of a long-standing and highly experienced board of directors and senior management team with both industry and PLC expertise, ensuring continuity of leadership.’

Solid State Chair Nigel Rogers comments: ‘On behalf of the board and all of our colleagues across the wider group, our thoughts and heartfelt condolences are with Gary’s family at this sad time. I would also like to thank John for readily accepting additional responsibility despite coming to terms with the loss of a close friend and colleague. Gary has left an enduring legacy, and I am sure that the group’s businesses will continue to flourish.’
