Producer prices in Ireland fell in September after seeing no change in August, but declined at a slower pace on-year, according to data released Wednesday.
Ireland’s Central Statistics Office said producer prices decreased by 0.4% in September from August, when they had held steady from July.
Compared to a year ago, the rate of deflation slowed to 2.6% in September from 3.0% in August.
Wholesale electricity prices were 2.0% lower in September than they were the previous month, and about 16% lower on-year.
Food prices fell by 0.2% on a monthly basis, but rose 4.5% from September 2024.
The all-materials index for construction products saw a 0.5% uptick during the month, with prices rising 1.0% on-year. The building and construction index, which measures materials and wages, was up 0.2% in September and 2.0% higher than a year ago.
