Gemfields Group Ltd - London-based miner and marketer of coloured gemstones - Generates revenue of $32.0 million at an emerald auction held between August 25 and September 11, 2025, nearly doubled from $16.1 million in November 2024. But the latest auction is down 8.5% from $35.0 million at auction held in May 2024. Average realised price of $160.78 per carat in September, up from $113.96 in November 2024. Emeralds were extracted from Zambian-based Kagem Mining Ltd, which is 75% owned by Gemfields.

‘This September auction marks Kagem’s first high-quality emerald sale since the disappointing result in November 2024,’ says Adrian Banks, managing director of product & sales. ‘Mining operations at Kagem were suspended in January 2025 in response to market uncertainty and challenges relating to the oversupply of Zambian emeralds,’ Banks says.
