Cordiant Digital Infrastructure Ltd on Monday said its wholly owned Irish fibre platform Speed Fibre Group Ltd has completed the acquisition of BT Communications Ireland Ltd.

The UK-based investor in specialist digital infrastructure said BT Communications Ireland provides wholesale fibre and business-to-business connectivity to around 400 customers in the telecoms, enterprise and government sectors in Ireland.

By combining resources with BT Communications Ireland, Speed Fibre expects to deliver ‘greater operational efficiencies and deliver a broader range of connectivity products and services for customers across Ireland’.

The purchase was first announced in February. The deal was financed by Speed Fibre’s existing cash resources, its senior revolving credit facility and cash from Cordiant Digital.

Shares in Cordiant Digital Infrastructure were down 0.6% at 96.42 pence in London on Monday morning.
