Hill & Smith poaches Ibstock CFO Chris McLeish to be new finance chief

Hill & Smith PLC on Wednesday said it has poached the chief financial officer of building products peer Ibstock PLC to be its own new CFO.

Hill & Smith, a West Midlands, England-based infrastructure products provider, said Chris McLeish will in October. Mark Else will continue as interim CFO until McLeish joins.

Former CFO Hannah Nichols left Hill & Smith at the end of March to take up the same role at Coats Group PLC.

Ibstock, a Leicestershire, England-based building products supplier, said the search to replace McLeish as CFO is underway. McLeish had joined Ibstock in 2019.

Hill & Smith Chief Executive Officer Rutger Helbing said of McLeish: ‘We are excited to have found a great candidate who has the experience and skills to help deliver the next stage of the Hill & Smith growth strategy.’

Shares in Hill & Smith were up 0.8% to 1,780.00 pence in London at midday on Wednesday. Ibstock shares were down 0.1% to 175.80 pence.
