Mortgage approvals declined in the UK last month but came in largely as expected, numbers from the Bank of England showed on Monday.
Mortgage approvals totalled 59,976 in June, a decline of 0.3% from 60,134 in May. The latest figure was a hair below the market consensus of 60,000, according to FXStreet.
The BoE said net lending to individuals rose to £3.82 billion in June from £2.78 billion in May.
It was the loftiest net lending figure since £4.4 billion in November 2022, and it also topped the FXStreet-cited consensus of £2.2 billion.
