IN BRIEF: London Stock Exchange hires information chief from Goldman

London Stock Exchange Group PLC - exchange operator and provider of post-trade services, financial data and stock indices - Hires Irfan Hussain from Goldman Sachs Group Inc to be chief information officer. Hussain currently is chief operating & strategy officer for Engineering at the US bank. He will start in January and remain based in New York, reporting to LSEG Chief Executive Officer David Schwimmer.

Hussain replaces Tony McCarthy, who has held the post since January 2020 and will retire in early 2024.

Schwimmer himself spent two decades at Goldman Sachs. He was global head of Market Structure and of Metals & Mining within Goldman’s investment banking business before taking over the helm of LSEG in 2018.
