IN BRIEF: Emis Group lifts annual dividend as profit jumps

Emis Group PLC - Leeds-based healthcare software producer - Says revenue rises by 4.3% to £175.4 million in 2022 from £168.2 million in 2021. Recurring revenue rises 6.3% to £143.3 million from £134.8 million. Pretax profit increases by 7.8% to £38.9 million from £36.1 million. Emis explains this reflects an exceptional fair value gain of £10.7 million on the revaluation of the previously held interest in a joint venture resulting from the Healthcare Gateway acquisition. Emis declares a final dividend of 21.1 pence, up 20% annually to 17.6p. This brings the company’s full-year dividend to 38.7p, up 9.9% from 35.2p. Looking ahead, says confident of delivering full year expectations for 2023.

Chief Executive Officer Andy Thornburn says: ‘It has been another year of good progress for EMIS group.’

Expects takeover by a subsidiary of UnitedHealth Group Inc to become effective in the final quarter of 2023 or the first quarter of 2024, subject to approval from the UK Competition & Markets Authority.

The acquisition is currently the subject of a phase 2 probe.
