Holcim Ltd - Zug, Switzerland-based building materials manufacturer - Buys a manufacturer of thermoplastic roofs with a strong presence in fast-growing European markets, FDT Flashdach Technologie GmbH, for an undisclosed amount. Says its net sales will exceed $4 billion ahead of schedule with this acquisition.

In 2022, Mannheim, Germany-based FDT produced net sales of €50 million. Says the acquisition will compliment Holcim’s integrated roofing offer and strengthen the ‘geographical footprint of the business’.

Chief Executive Officer Jan Jenisch says: ‘By acquiring FDT we are further expanding our Solutions & Products business to become a global leader in roofing systems. Due to its leadership in technology and sustainability as well as its strong customer relationships, FDT will be a cornerstone of our continued expansion into the most attractive European roofing markets.’
