Ireland's annual inflation rate slowed in September, figures on Thursday showed.
According to the Central Statistics Office, the yearly inflation rate faded to 8.2% in September, from 8.7% in August.
The CSO noted the September figure now marks a whole 12 months where the inflation rate has been above 5%.
On a harmonised basis, allowing for EU-wide comparison, the yearly inflation rate slowed to 8.6% in September, from 9.0% in August. September's figure was the first below the 9% threshold since May.
On a monthly basis, consumer prices were unchanged in September, after registering 0.2% growth in August from July.
