JD Sports Fashion PLC is set to appoint Regis Schultz, former finance head of B&Q, as its chief executive officer, Sky News reported on Tuesday.
Sky News reported Schultz will join JD Sports from Al-Futtaim Group, a Dubai-based conglomerate which operates a substantial retail business spanning the Middle East and Asia. He was also chief financial officer at DIY retailer Kingfisher PLC's B&Q chain from 2005 to 2008.
JD Sports earlier this month named Andrew Higginson as chair, replacing Peter Cowgill who was ousted in May amid boardroom disagreements pertaining to succession and corporate governance.

The stock was down 6.3% at 130.20 pence in London on Tuesday.
