Eneraqua Technologies PLC - London-based heating and hot water systems for social housing and commercial projects - Wins contract from the Indian state government of Uttarakhand. The northern state has a population of over 10 million people. Contract is worth £900,000 from the state's Department of Horticulture will see Eneraqua supply systems to 340 horticultural farms across the state. Aims to reduce carbon emissions and improve water efficiency.
‘This is the first major zero carbon irrigation initiative of its kind in India,’ company adds. The programme is set to start in 2022 and finish in 2023. Eneraqua's subsidiary Cenergist Energy Private Ltd will deliver packages of water, energy and soil conversation.
‘As well as reducing carbon emissions, this programme will also reduce pressure on water resources and improve the incomes of farmers. This offers an attractive template for other states looking to decarbonise the agricultural sector while meeting the challenges of sustainability,’ comments Chief Executive Officer Mitesh Dhanak.
