Botswana Diamonds PLC - exploration & project development company focused on Botswana and South Africa - Widens pretax loss to £228,000 in the six months to December 31 from a loss of £195,000 the previous year. Total assets at December 31 increases very slightly 0.5% to £8.33 million from £8.28 million at the same time the previous year. Notes a ‘dramatic’ recovery in diamond prices in recent months and increased demand.

Companys says it has made ‘significant progress on its diamond development projects in South Africa and Botswana in the half. It identifies four new targets at Thorny River in South Africa and won a long stop date extension for its acquisition of the Ghaghoo Mine.
